My Dearest General: It Has Always Been You

Chapter 302 - He Will Not Be Killed, Right?

Qin Weizhe led four other men as they rushed through the dense forest and climbed the mountain, their boots thumped lightly on the ground. He and Luo Ning raced in front while three others covered behind them. For a while, there was only the sound of twigs snapping, leaves rustling and soft, rapid breathing.

Until at one point of time, Qin Weizhe suddenly stopped and raised his fist.

They halted swiftly and following Qin Weizhe\'s direction, saw a red dot twinkling above the tree. One of the members nodded, jumped agilely and crushed the mini CCTV, the whole movement didn\'t even take two seconds. "Clear." He whispered.

"Okay, let\'s sweep around first." Qin Weizhe ordered. They dispersed briskly and returned a few minutes later. "Three cameras around eight hundred meters from the base…" he muttered.

"Are we close to the warehouse?" Luo Ning asked in a whisper.

"Maybe. But my gut feeling said that this is only the first layer."

They looked at each other, nodded and continued forward. In the span of fifteen minutes, they found another five mini CCTVs, all crushed in their palms. The deeper they went, the more red dots they saw. "It\'s not right." Qin Weizhe suddenly halted. "We have destroyed so many of their cameras. Why does nobody come to check it out?"

Only then did they realize that the surrounding was quiet. Too quiet, in fact.

"It can\'t be, right?" The other member echoed. "Just now we found that the tyre prints are fresh. They have just gone up a moment ago."

Qin Weizhe nodded, his face serious and tense. Under the helmet, his bronze skin was glistening with sweat. Coupled with his sharp and fierce eyes, he looked just like a leopard ready to pounce on his prey. He whispered to the members behind him. "Two of you, go and inspect what happens. Pull back if you saw any sign of activity okay? Don\'t let them see you."

They nodded and dashed out agilely with their backs bent.

Qin Weizhe waited with his jaws clenched taut. He swept his gaze over and saw Luo Ning beside him had a slightly pale complexion. Taken aback, he asked, worry marred his face. "Are you okay?"

Luo Ning nodded with a wry smile. "I\'m okay…"

Qin Weizhe\'s features softened and he patted Luo Ning\'s shoulders gently. "I know this is the first time for you to go through such a huge operation so it\'s inevitable for you to feel nervous. Don\'t worry, I and Old Quan will cover you, right?" The last word was directed toward Quan Rongheng who crouched beside them.

He nodded. "When I was going through this the first time, I was more nervous than you. I even misfired the gun. Fortunately, I didn\'t harm anyone that time. You are already doing great, Luo Ning."

"Really?" Luo Ning took large gulps of air and tried to calm his tremble. "I thought it\'s only me…thank you, Detective Quan, Detective Qin."

Qin Weizhe smiled and rubbed his back in comfort. "Just make sure to take a warm bath when you return home later. You will definitely feel better."

Luo Ning gave him a wide grin in return. His heart slowly calmed down.

The two members returned not long after. Their expressions a bit unsightly. Luo Ning\'s heart secretly sank, even Qin Weizhe grew tense as he asked, "What\'s wrong?"

"I think it\'s safe for us to move forward." They said, "We are only around eight hundred meters away from the warehouse. I just saw them dragging someone inside. If my eyes didn\'t wrong me, then it is definitely Sui Chenyou."

"Who?" Quan Rongheng asked blankly.

Qin Weizhe clicked his tongue. "Sui Chenyou. That Bro Sui whom Captain Jin ordered to find Jia Renyu\'s son."

They couldn\'t help but curse vehemently.

"No way." Luo Ning gasped, his face paled. "They caught him? What will happen to him? He…He will not be killed, right?"

To his dismay, no one refuted his sentence. Luo Ning clenched his fists, exasperated. Of course, what did he expect? The first and foremost principle the mafia upheld was loyalty. Sui Chenyou had clearly switched sides with his act of searching for Jia Renyu\'s son. It\'s no wonder that he was apprehended and brought back for punishment.

Thinking of the corpses buried in the wall, Luo Ning got chills down his spine. A few hours later…Sui Chenyou\'s fate must have ended up like them. Slowly dying, watching as oxygen around him thinned bit by bit until the end, he would asphyxiate and die in unwillingness and fear…

"We shouldn\'t waste time any longer." Qin Weizhe said somberly. It was clear that they were imagining the same thing. Quan Rongheng even showed a vomiting look. "Come on. If they are busy with Sui Chenyou, the security must be lacking right now. It\'s our chance."

They looked at each other and saw the same determination. Nodding, they broke into a run and rushed forward, disregarding the twinkling red dots until the dense trees thinned and a space opened up in front of them. They halted sharply and scanned around.

"Oh!" Luo Ning whispered excitedly. "It\'s our members there!"

The two teams met again, separated by the small, inconspicuous warehouse. Qin Weizhe\'s team was standing on the east while the other was on the west. They made eye contact with each other and nodded.

Qin Weizhe swept his gaze over the area in front of him. There were two black sedans parked in front of the shabby warehouse. The building seemed like a security guard\'s station that was renovated to be a warehouse.

The size was so small for a storage warehouse. It wasn\'t even fifty meters square. The windows were blocked by black films and from the gaps beneath the door, there came the faint light and shadow moving. They could also hear distant conversation, the dull thud of something heavy falling to the ground and muffled screams.

It was Sui Chenyou\'s voice!

A/N: oh no, Sui Chenyou is caught! Well, Jia Renyu\'s son is practically dangling in front of their very eyes. It\'s unfortunate they haven\'t realized it lol (ʃƪ¬‿¬)
